32" for women and 34" for men
Oh dear! I had to buy a pair of trousers marked 40" today. (always got away with 38" before).  I suppose this is the beginning of the end.............................?
34 isn't really *that* big is it? I used to wear that size of trouser recently and I wasn't so tubby that I was risking my life.
i know, its a bit small if you ask me, but i saw it in on the front of a science magazine and remembered it! although i have since seen it in magazines i get as well.
wasit measurement is not really a good single independent predictor of risk of heart attack as a muscular man may have a bigger waist size due to muscle mass but is low in the risk of heart disease but as a general indicator the higher the wasit size the greater the risk of a heart attack
