Imagine ... News at Ten ... top story ... a meteor is hurtling towards earth..... the earth has no hope of avoiding total destruction.

Naomi, you would not have time to see it, it would be travelling too fast.

I don't think that's true, danny. We can't say how fast it might be travelling but it would have to be some boulder to destroy the entire earth so I'm guessing it would be spotted during the course of its approach.
