What numbers can I put into plastic recycling? I know that 1 and 2 are okay. Are there others? The council says "anything bottle shaped"!

there isn't an answer to that because it depends where you live. My sister lives in the midlands and can put far more in her recycling than I can here in the south.....all I would suggest is that you do what your council wants.

What do you mean by numbers?
The numbers inside the triangle, Prudie.
I've never seen the numbers.
Ooops neither have I
You haven't been looking have you? :-)
We can put everything in here.
No I don't know why but had no idea about those. Re the OP I'd say 95% of what we put in plastic recycling is not bottle shaped - and yes all councils are different.
All plastic that seems recyclable goes in the recycle bin.
Numbers indeed !
Thought you were replacing your door numbers.
Your council may or may not be the same as my council. We are advised to only put in bottles regardless of the number in the triangle /or plastic type. My advice would be just that- only put in bottles.
All other plastic items ( and we, as a family) are guilty of getting through plenty, have to go to “residual waste”, meaning our black bin.
My council has one of the highest rates for recycling in the country.
The reason? They make it dead easy to recycle....everything that can be recycled goes in one wheelie bin....and there is very little plastic that it can't handle.
