Carrots were originally purple (many years ago) the orange carrot is a mutant form on the purple carrot!!

Carrots were origionally pale whiteish-yellow before william of orange popularised the ones we see today..

I remember reading a book about a doctors experiences - and he had experienced someone turning orange due to eating carrots - but she ate little else.

Categorically yes.

I know two people it has happened to! One ate a lot of carrots as part of a detox regime, the other because she just liked them.

The first was really tangoed! The other just had a sort of glow.

Many years ago, a case was reported in The Daily Telegraph of a woman who having successfully grown a greenhouse full of tomatoes, ate too may and her skin turned red.

If you don't know that eating too much beetroot causes urine to colour pale blood-red, it can be an alarming experience.

My aunt ate loads of carrots wen she was pregnant n when she gave birth to her son, he was slightly orange. He soon became normal coloured but it was rly funny.
