What is the name of numbers whose binary codes are minimally different? I'd like to Neeva them to see if they have an addition algorithm.
The numbers 1 to 9 are coded 1, 11, 10, 110, 111, 101, 100, 1100, 1101 so that each differs by just one bit from its predecessor.

Not sure I get it sorry....so you have reordered the numbers 1-9 to make there binarys 'minimaly diffrent'??

I don't understand. Your sequence in decimal is 1,3,2,6,7,5,4,12,13.

The point of Gray code goes back to the days of mechanical switching - less prone to error if only one bit changes as you count up or down
