I imagine that many of us suffer several annoyances and some will do so better than others. None of us will ever rule the world so perhaps try the serenity prayer:
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.

Ageing gracefully helps too, for with age comes wisdom and patience :)
LadyCG - yes I understand that. What I question is why someone would go to the hassle of getting a prescription (my GP is 5 miles away)when they could buy from any supermarket.

They get them on repeat, Maggie, and in many cases they just stockpile them until they expire. What the NHS pay for these simple drugs is far greater than the OTC or supermarket price because Drugs companies know they can charge the NHS anything they want.
My OH has a monthly prescription of (among many things) 100 x 500mg Paracetamol. I would have to visit a lot of supermarkets to buy that many.
Because people who do that get free prescriptions. Buying over the counter costs money.

+2, Jim, that's one of my big bug-bears.
