Khandro, that is fantasy.  You can believe whatever you like but until there's even a little bit of evidence - a smidgeon - and there isn't -  it can only ever be relegated to the realms of fantasy.

Mickey Mouse was created in 1928, even the most boggle-eyed zealot tends towards the Earth being about 6000 years old so I guess you're proved wrong, Canary.

Pluto though is a different matter. 😉

canary //I say the universe was created by Mickey Mouse. You can't disprove that Khandro, so by your reasoning it must be true.//

Not a very intelligent argument; Mickey mouse was invented within the universe & by Walt Disney.

Anybody want to look at my ring

it's a bit mind-boggling that something measuring 10 billion light years across can be referred to as a "cluster"!

We were all avoiding Uranus, dustypuss.

Maybe the scientist understanding of climate change might now be challenged.

naomi; I can only reiterate:

'it's a simple elegant explanation. Everything started -the prime mover- by an omnipotent, unknowable, God.

I have an explanation of which you can't disprove, and you have non.'

As you are so hung up about 'evidence', let's have some to show me I'm wrong, why it's fantasy, & give me your better explanation.

If you can't your, assertion is meaningless.

KHANDRO, if I were to claim we and everyone before us, exist only in a simulation, is there evidence to contradict that claim?

///Mickey mouse was invented within the universe///

So were Jesus Christ and God, fictional characters all of them.

God. See all. Hear all .know all. Does F all.

Question Author

Khandro, there is no point in you reiterating your claim because your claim requires evidence to support it - and you have none.  'Elegant' it is not.

Khandro 16:50

"Everything started -the prime mover- by an omnipotent, unknowable, God. "

You could replace 'God' by 'Dog' and you'd realise what nonsense it all is.

You are still trying to introduce an unnecessary something into the 'explanation' of existence. How do you explain 'God's' existence?

naomi, //Khandro, there is no point in you reiterating your claim because your claim requires evidence to support it -//

No it does not , it isn't a claim, it is an explanation in which I and countless billions of others have believed, do believe and will continue to believe throughout multiple religions throughout time.

I have challenge you (or any of your cohort) to come forward with another better explanation, which you don't (and can't). Repeating the same tired mantra that it is false or fantasy is intellectually jejune.

But then, this is AB, what else should I expect?

Can you prove we are not in a simulation?

//I have challenge you (or any of your cohort) to come forward with another better explanation, which you don't (and can't).//

That's because we're happy to say we don't know.

It's the religious that are so desperate to have an explanation for everything that they have to make one up.

tomus //That's because we're happy to say we don't know.//

 🙄

Khandro, this is a science thread. In science, theories are only accepted if they can be falsified. If you want you prime mover idea to be accepted, you have to cite and experiment or discovery that would disprove it. Otherwise, it's bunkum.

Khandro, //it is an explanation in which I and countless billions of others have believed, do believe and will continue to believe throughout multiple religions throughout time.//

I'll ignore your rudeness - something that, in the absence of a rational argument, you usually resort to - and ask you one simple question.  Why?

When you read things like this it just reminds you how insignificant and unimportant we and the earth really is. Our stupid little quarrels about saving the planet, pointless really in the great scheme of things.
