In some cases we may suspect there is no way to gather such evidence in which case it won't reach the dizzying heights of being a hypothesis.
Until it reaches the level of theory folk are at liberty to believe it or not, since, unless a better explanation comes along, or maybe even afterwards too, then it may be true but unprovable.
Believe in an aware mover if you wish, but perhaps expect that discussion in spiritual/religious debates. I get the feeling that as this thread in in the science forum it was scientific conjectures that were hoped for.

Yet the OP is challenges to our 'understanding', which clears the ground for certain aspects of subjectivity.

I wholeheartedly agree with that (not very original) statement. That is what I find daily by wasting time, between more serious matters, on AB. 😄

Yes, there are better explanations, and that's why many people of science and rationality believe those explanations. And at the same time many others, like you, don't, for some reason(s).
