If an aeroplanre needs to be going, for example 200 miles per hour to take, and you were able to put the plane on a treadmill running at the said speed.

Would the plane take off?

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that the answers in this thread appear to be getting a tad more obscure each time?

And whilst we're on the subject, since when has Balamory been situated on the Equator?

Ever since Archie invented a geographical displacement machine and teleported the entire colourful town to more equatorial climes in an attempt to jump Josie.
I did, of course, mean "..in an attempt to impress Josie Jump."
I think that people who write silly answers to serious questions should get marmite squirted into their ears.
Which is now possible because squeezable Marmite has just been invented.
I should imagine logically the tread mill cant run the engine.

If the treadmill went 200mph I think the treadmill would take off if it didnt have the weight of the plane on it.

Your all bonkers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Except sebandbay who asked a very intelligent Question.

AHHH ...but were all assuming the treadmill is going in the opposite direction to the plane !!!!

Now what if , same speeds etc...
would we take off , and would we miss the fence at the end of the runway ?
...possibly, but worse thing is we'd go shooting off past and miss the Duty Free Shop and the baggage carousel. (including your lunchbox with the marmite sandwiches.)
After reading this lot I've just realised I have a sad life !!!
lazy days have you missed all that has been said?

My porridge tastes of curry/chilli again this morning.

Any chance of you cleaning the beans etc. off the microwave roof?

And how about covering your dish with a plate next time you cook your dinner?

Just a quick reminder that i'm still here.................alone in my office with no mates. Reply to one of my questions so that I know you're still alive.
