I breastfed all my children (in public if they needed it) but usually managed to cover up the majority of the time with the aid of a muslin square cloth. Of course there are times when you expose a little more than you want to..but what's the problem?
There are breasts displayed on the front of magazines and newspapers all the time. A baby having it's lunch the way nature intended certainly shouldn't offend anyone. If it does then the offended person has serious issues...
Public breastfeeding is fine in my opinion. I have no problem with it at all, its the natural way to feed a baby. I may feel uncomfortable but thats my own thought because I know i couldnt breastfeed in public, mainly due to the views of other people like you. Breast fed young babies tend to demand feed so it can be difficult to time your everyday chores etc to fit around a newborn and thus keep the anti breast feeders happy.
There is no problem with a baby bottle feeding in public is there? Would anyone complain if that bottle contained breastmilk? so its not the feeding or the milk thats in question. The problem with society is that the breast is now a sexual organ rather than the means for feeding a child. This causes embarassment amongst the person who sees a mother breastfeeding but do you think that the mother was at all fussed? She was doing what comes naturally to her and her baby.
OK so you dont want to be in a position where you are forced to view it, who would be, but you had the choice to walk away from it? to say 'not in public' is a bit much in my opinion though. Mothers should not be forced into toilets and restrooms to feed their children. If they are then i would suggest that they start changing their children in the restaurants on the tables. If you expect the babies to eat in a toilet then you should expect to do the same.
As others have mentioned, feeding is a social activity for adults and children alike. The prudish hangover from the Victorian period is the real problem here.
A hungry baby needs feeding and whilst many mothers organise their time efficiently most of the time, sometimes we get caught out and the baby feed needs to take precedence at such moments.
Local councils and large stores have been more effective at providing baby changing rooms, but what mother would want to feed her baby in a room full of dirty nappies?
Feed a baby in the public toilet? I have never heard anything so preposterous in my life (apart from some of your other questions & answers sexyrussian)
Having sex in public is a totally different argument ~ and a stupid one at that. I don't like seeing people snogging in public (gay or straight ~ still don't like it) but I wouldn't go up to a couple & ask them to go away. I just wouldn't look.
Everyone uses a toilet to pee. Everyone eats in public. Why should a baby be any different? I was feeding my baby on demand (as you should) so there was no way I would be bothered to take her into a cubicle somewhere every 30 minutes!
Yet again you show just how blinkered, immature & pathetic you really are, dear.
