Has anyone came across a spider that could effortlessly climb out of a fibreglass bath at the most vertical point??

No I've never seen one make it out without a little "helping hand" (brush handle- cos I'm s**t scared of them)
I had a pet tarantula that could easily climb the vertical glass walls of his aquarium. He escaped on a few occasions when the lid was still on but not locked. Tarantulas have this weird velcro like stuff on the tips of their legs that enables them to climb the smoothest surfaces.

NEWTRON Do they actually respond to stroking- as in enjoy it?
No not really. They're pretty cool to watch though, especially when they feed. They can stay in one place for days, but when a cricket comes within range, they can move very quickly.
