Calibration of calorimeter for neutralization experiment

I have to determine the heat capacity of a calorimeter first before finding out the heat of neutralization of an acid-base system.

In the calibration of the calorimter, I added concentrated concentrated H2SO4 to 200 mL of water and measured heat change, afterwhich I titrated the H2SO4 with NaOH.

Why must the amount of solution inside the calorimeter be equal to the total volume to be used in subsequent neutralization experiments?

Can anyone pls help me? Thanks a lot!
