Not really a sience matter - more mathematics however this seems to me at least to be the most appropiate category.
If there are two modes in a set of data what do you do? I know that if there are two medians then you add them together and divide them into two, however how do you figure out the mode.
For example if the numbers 15 and 18 occur the most in my set of data what shall i write in my investigation.

In this instance you have a bimodal distribution and both modes should be quoted. The same could occur with three or four modes, etc - and all should be given as the answer.
Oh and mathematics is a science - so your question is in the correct category, for what its worth.
Maths is NOT a science!!!
Really fo3nix? This is from Chambers dictionary:

mathematics n sing or n pl (short form maths, or math) the science of magnitude and number, the relations of figures and forms, and of quantities expressed as symbols.

It follows scientific method, but I'd disagree that it's science as such. It's a language that's developed scientifically, used to describe things of a scientific nature.
Marcus du Sautoy describes maths as the "Science of patterns"

http://seedmagazine.com/news/2006/03/prime_num bers_get_hitched.php

and as he's professor of Mathematics at Oxford University I'd bow to his opinion.
I'd agree with him. But I'd still describe it as more as a language that follows scientific methodology. Which, in my opinion, doesn't mean that it in itself is a 'science'.

I'm probably very wrong though, it's just my opinion.
