Ford Focus LX 56 Radio

Just bought a Focus LX 56 Plate. Very happy with it, but the radio (factory fitted) AM band is very poor. Load of interference, I'm a 5 Live fan and can't listen. I've tried wiggling the aerial about to no avail. Anyone know what might be the problem?
Alternatively how much would a DAB car radio cost?

Thanks Norman but already tried both-rubbish reception. I've had several cars, all have been ok. I live in a good reception area. I'll have a go at the settings, treble or bass may be set too high. Apparently Ford don't do a DAB radio in any of the Focus range, so I can't upgrade.
