i want to know if i was lying on a beach suspended above a mirror /foil like object...would the rays of the sun come down burn me...hit the mirror and bounce back off it and burn my underside?

Definitely yes.

In ancient greek times one of the clever ones realised that if they got the soldiers on shore to reflect the suns rays onto a ship, they could set fire to the ship. They did.

...and some people use(d) those reflective 'collars' while on the beach to get a tan under their chin and neck.
