Toasters

I like my toast well done but 50% of the time it comes out burnt as its impossible to see the progress unless continuously popping it up.

Do they produce toasters with see through sides. I would have thought this impossible in the past but you can buy wood burning stoves with a glass frontage.

Your toaster should have numbers on it for various degrees of "getting done". If not, it's probably an old one, so best to have a hunt round for another.
However, there ARE a few see-through ones on the market...

Hi,

Might I suggest a Dualit Toaster, They come in various sizes and can be set to give you the toast of your choice every time without fail.

They are a little more expensive but worth every penny.

I'm surprised none of the big toaster manufacturers have got into this market except for Dyson of course. The answer that we have always done it this way and put up with burnt toast is ridiculous. We now have the technology! I predict within about 10 years most old style toasters will be consigned to the museum.

on the subject of toasters, why doesn't someone from a toaster manufacturing company go to the supermarket armed with a ruler or tape measure and measure the dimensions of typical loaves of bread....and use these measurements to design a toaster which will actually accommodate a slice properly ?

good point, Nightmare. I hate it when the top 1-2 cm of the bread doesnt get browned.

Isn't it funny that we can land men on the moon but we can't make a toaster that f**king works properly.... no help to you I know but it's worth thinking about!
