I did look at the Webcam but the female was sitting on the Nest and therefore no chicks or eggs to be seen.
I'm hoping that the North Wales Ospreys will also have a successful brood as well.
Rutland Bay doing well for new Ospreys, 2 eggs hatched on the webcam nest, Manton Bay. Now the 1st egg at site B has hatched. No hatch news yet from Scotland and Wales, but they should be soon
Just checked for news at Glaslyn, North Wales and found hidden away that Glaslyn produced the first Osprey this season on 12 May. A second has now hatched. Camera is here but doesn't seem to be working properly http://www.bbc.co.uk/...s/pages/ospreys.shtml
Cannot find a sustainable Webcam link either Milvus regarding the Glaslyn Ospreys.
3 Chicks have been hatched but these Welsh Webcams have a mind of their own !!
I read some disturbing news about a couple of the male ospreys in Rutland "disappearing", presumed shot. How could anyone do this?
On a cheerier note, the Dovey ospreys here in Wales are sitting on eggs & with any luck, we'll see them on Springwatch next week! K xx
Yes Kleiber, two were lost last year and one this year, all presumed shot (no bodies ever found). The loss this year was a male whose partner was sitting on three eggs. She has recently abandoned them but the Rutland team have been licensed to intervene and now have the eggs in an incubator. If any begin to hatch they will try to get them into one of the remaining four occupied nests. Springwatch next then!
