i am not sure why civil servants should be sending any kind of greeting to people who they don't know personally and if they know them personally, they know what would offend or not.
Worrying that people like this have any authority anywhere!
Just courtesy. Glad to see they are pracrising good manners.
Too much time on their hands?
^Definitely!
"Images should also 'avoid skin' to prevent causing racial offence"

I was told not to display Christmas cards in my classroom (that year Ramadan was quite close). I put them up anyway - and the Ramadan cards as well. There was a bit of muttering from the politically correct management!
my muslim friends wish me a merry christmas, that's probably because they are sensible and have a mind of their own
I liked these two comments on the original article:

//I suggest we all send this stupid Lib Dem MP a religious Christmas card wishing him a Merry Christmas and a dreadful New Year//

//Oh don't worry. He will have a dreadful New Year. He'll be out of a job for a start. Love Britain VOTE UKIP//

Hope Mikey doesn't take umbrage.

^Don't give him your name, Blackadder. He'll put you on the list

True enough. Embarrassing stuff.

Do you know the answer?

Don't Mention The Word Christmas, And Images Should Also 'avoid Skin' To Prevent Causing Racial Offence.
