I usually wait until the week before Xmas, to put my tree and decorations up.

But this year I plan to put them up a week today...ie the 1st of December, and am now looking forward to that like an excited school boy !

I live alone and I am now of the opinion that you have to make an extra effort at this time of year, otherwise what is special about Yuletide ?

I've got four very good reasons why there's no point in putting up decorations in my house. (They're called Tablo, Moonbeam, Biscuit and Chequers). This gives you an idea of the type of thing I'm thinking of ;-)

Nope, not yet, just written the first ten cards to go out and nothing in yet......
I am going to be earlier too - I used to just put them up a few days before Xmas but see me trying to put them up at the end of the week.
must say - most neighbours have them up - but the most irritating ones to me are the flashing ones - oh yeah, I have to close my blinds. Maybe they irritate my vertigo. Thank God it gets dark early now. My blinds are closed 4.30.
Nope! Youngest daughter was born 14/12 so I got used to keeping her birthday separate from Christmas. Nothing goes up until 15th, earliest.
I must get the 'abroad' cards done in the next couple of days though.

About to bend my brain to catering............:(
Eccles - your are lucky that anybody sends you a Xmas card - never mind being covered in glitter. Consider yourself a lucky lady.

Has Eccles posted on this thread?
I used to get in loads of bother for too much glitter on my cards - I've stopped doing it now.
Yes, she has.
Good for you. My tree went up today, I like the lights on for as long as I can.

Oh yeah ,missed that, must go to Specsavers ;o)
