A friend mentioned that she had seen a gin advent calendar that she had dropped unsubtle and nor doubt fruitless hints to her husband.
She has been very helpful of late and I thought I would get her and another friend one each. Having googled this afternoon they are going for £100 a pop. Sorry dear friends but you'll get box of After Eight Mints instead.
I'm a bit like eccles in that I was going to get my sister and her daughters an advent calender of something other than chocs, well, I was thinking maybe a perfume or cosmetic calender but they are so expensive, if I bought them that, it would mean no gift for anyone else - there's a good few choices here http://www.look.co.uk/beauty/best-beauty-advent-calendars-58295
I`m surprised advent calendars are still going. I grew out of them when I was about 10 years old. Someone must have seen the pound signs and revived them.
Months don't matter albs, they were stocking school uniforms back in June as soon as children returned to school the Hallowe'en and Christmas gifts were out, I've already been to a Christmas fair on the local Arboretum, al; snowy and Santa's grotto etc.I can even book to have breakfast with Santa, I prefer a quiet morning with the paper though ;)
