A noisy or quiet affair? Will it be something you're looking forward to? ... or dreading? Has anything changed for you this year that changes the way you will celebrate it .. good or bad? It's not a great time for everyone is it, can be a make or break time for people, may be a new journey for some as we head towards Christmas and in to a new year?

When I look back to this time last year, I was in a very bad place. On 21 December I took a step that would change my life. Everything has changed immeasurably in this last year. This year, I shall enjoy Christmas - just with my family and OH. And I know that 2018 has more good in store for me.

Although whether I actually get done everything that I need to before 25th December is another question entirely !!!!!
quiet.
Just the 4 of us. However, Boxing Day will be a different matter as the younger alba celebrates a birthday and no doubt, as in previous years, loads of mates will drop in, music and beer :-D

So glad for you barmaid, horrible being down, positive one then for you. So many pressures at Christmas .. if you're already not in a great place financially / relationship wise, or mentally.
going to my youngest brother who has two boys who are lovely, boisterous, but sure that will add to the festivities.

Same here alba, sounds like fun boxing day, nice to have teenagers around you isn't it. My son's here over Christmas, he stays at his girlfriend's, but will see him the main days at some point, all good, everyone does their own thing.

Hi danny, it is for some .. and that's fine!
my friend was fine about it, she is coming for a dinner on friday as a thank you before Christmas...
as to being spoilt, that's for me to do for the boys..
Emmie, I've found that boisterous, young family members are very good with those who aren't as physically active as they'd like to be. They are surprisingly considerate.

Ele, my baby will be 24 sob :-(

BM, am glad that things are looking up after a tough year.

At the in laws. They were planning on moving back to Ireland but a family friend died so they've put it off until new year.

That's nice to hear barmaid. We will be having Christmas Eve at daughter's and her family and a few friends, Christmas Day is at ours, I will be cooking traditional turkey lunch for 10, but I love it. Boxing Day quiet and New Years Eve's, out with all the family to the local excellent Chinese for dinner/dance. It sounds strange but we have spent a few NYE there and has been great
