I have some lovely Christmas cards and wondered how I could recycle them, apart from throwing them in the recycling bin. I have made some gift tags but still have loads of cards left. Thanks all. Don't say use them next year as I can't get envelopes to fit !!
There are several places that take old christmas cards for recycle but I keep mine. I recycle them myself by using them for making my own cards next year.
I make tags from the appropriate bits then use any plain backs or large white areas for the rest of the year for my shopping lists. Anything else that is really not reusable goes in my paper recycling bin at home.
The Woodland Trust have an annual recycling scheme for Christmas cards and provide special disposal bins in various shops during January. Think it includes WH Smith & M & S but you can check on their website. Money raised from selling the scrap paper to be recycled as toilet rolls, etc. is used to plant trees throughout the country and you can vote on their website which part of the country you would like the trees planted in.
