St Stephen's Day Or Boxing Day, What Do...
ChatterBank1 min ago
Sister has been complaing of a very itchy back these past few days. I bought a spray for the back, sudocreme, cortisone 1% oh and back scratcher nothing is helping.
I believe myself it is coming from late shock and nerves.
She wants me to bring old sheets and pillowcases tomorrow because she thinks it is the starch in the sheets - I will do of course but I was wondering would any of you have any better ideas of what to get her.
Also she is now in a recovery unit which to me is lackadaisacal and whilst she is now able to sit on a chair for 20 minutes she wants into bed again - she hasn't had one shower - should she have had one or is it too soon. And should I ask the staff tomorrow to give her a wee one. Think she has just had bed wash.
This is has been an ordeal for me as I haven't been looking after people like that for many a year. Thanks for any advice

thanks all - well went over today and she did ask nurse re the starch in sheets but he said no - then she said oh maybe I'm allergic to the detergent, however, I did notice she didn't complain so much about the itch.
I did buy E45 for itch now she is saying oh I am afraid of my back breaking out etc.
I just told her she needs to eat otherwise her wounds wont heal.
There is an old lady facing her probably with a little dementia - the two of them are right to the nurses station and the old lady wants to get out of bed regularly to pee but last night nurses didn't witness the lady getting out of bed and fell and split her head. Of course sister saw all this and as I said I find it all so lackadaisical - feel sorry for the old lady.
