John Lewis and Heals..................
Dunelm, The Range, Poundland, B & M, Aldi & M & S Food when I'm not skint.
I shop purely out of necessity and gain no pleasure from it other than to know it is done. Have never done a grocery shop on line. When I was housebound with a back injury I phoned a friend who would pop ciggies through my letterbox every other day, thank goodness for a letter cage on the door. I always keep sufficient medicinal stocks ;o)
I fear IKEA

Swan and Edgar ,DH Evans, Timothy Whites.... Oops, showing my age!
Can't believe no-one has mentioned Hotel Chocolat! I know it's not food for keeping me alive, like M and S produce, but it is divine and an essential.
You're definitely giving away your age, Calibax!

Do you remember this place?

lol Chris...hardly but Heals have some lovely 'different' things................
Don't think I ever went to Gamages Chris but I certainly remember it being around. Think it closed when I was a teenager!
I never went there, Calibax. I just remember all of the wonderful things that they seemed to advertise in the newspapers when I was a kid, especially around Christmas time. (The store closed in 1972)
This might bring back a few High Street memories, Calibax:

OK I was 12 when Gamages closed but I do remember the adverts too.
We definitely had a local MacFisheries when I was a nipper. Don't seem to be any fishmongers now except in supermarkets. Miss C&A too. Best place for cheap ski gear.
We had a MacFisheries in Ipswich but you've reminded of one store we didn't have when I was a teenager.

A new boy, Tom, joined the school when his father (a doctor) moved to Ipswich from London. We were all stunned by the 'stylishness' of Tom's clothes and asked where he got them from. On the following Saturday morning there were queues of 6th form lads at Ipswich station, waiting for the train to London, so that we could visit the wonderland that we'd just learnt about. Yes, it was C&A!
Man at C&A!!
I still like to pop into C&A when I'm abroad. (I've been in the Ostend one quite often, and I found a branch in Bratislava last year. They seem to be in almost every European country except the UK!):

C & A!! I recall the gag about their knickers being labelled as such to be sure they were on the right way round. :)
Yes, I was in Madeira last year and there's one in Funchal. Shame they couldn't have carried on in the UK.
Next, Costco, monsoon and selfridge's.
