we are getting married very quietly in a registary office but the next day is my 50th and we are having a fancy dress party.we are not going to tell friends and family we are getting married so at the party we want to surprise them by dressing up as a bride and groom .any ideas what i could wear ?a traditional wedding gown or a suit?or a dress with a veil?any ideas please.
arhh that's lovely Hannah, I wish you both well, Congrats xx
Yes, I think the traditional white dress for you and a suit for Mr H would be lovely, they will be "OMG, you two have gone OTT" then you tell'em
Hannah40, i love you!
What an original outrageously and devious plan!
I have no idea what you should wear but darling just make sure you have many sequins, feathers and diamantes on your outfit!
Bless you and your partner and i hope you have a great day, don't be forgetting to upload the friends and families surprised faces as i would actually pay money for that!
Good luck hun.
I like the reverse bride and groom idea too - especially as you'll risk having to play at having another wedding the next day if you where the traditional dress and veil to the party.
Wear it by all means if you're wearing in to the real wedding but if not, don't go searching for one for the party alone- where whatever you wear the day before.
Have a fantastic day and a long and happy marriage hannah!
Oh, I think not, maidup - the wedding is one special day, but fancy dress parties are meant to be crazy. You can hire a "wedding dress" fancy dress for £25 for the night round here - it'd be worth it!
I just think it would be odd to wear a wedding dress to the party but not to the wedding.......... maybe go as you would for a hen night hannah, with the veil and the garter and L plates. That would be fun.
