Amazon deliveries

Does anyone know what time frame the deliveries are. I was going to get something delivered to my OH's workplace but I don't want Amazon turning up before they're open or after they've gone home. Thanks for any replies.

It was dispatched on the 1st December with Yodel (Home Delivery Network) and I'm still waiting to receive it. Despite Amzon contacting them and telling them yesterday it was a work address and needed to be delivered before 5pm, as of today it is still sitting in Yodels depo - as it has for 3 days now. They say they tried to deliver it but they've never left a card so I don't know if that's true. They also said they tried to deliver it just after 8.30pm on Monday night - despite saying they only deliver until 7pm. Glad I didn't sit at work and wait for it.
So in short, it could take forvever.
And I would strongly advise that if you see on the order confirmation it's going to be sent by Yodel, cancel the order. They are useless arses!

It's not easy is it, I just want it to come before Christmas but I don't want to sit in and wait for it. Might have to go for that Express delivery so I get it by 1pm on Friday. I've got about 20 hours to order for that service so if I order about midday tomorrow there's no way they would deliver tomorrow afternoon is there? Cos I've got to go out!
Rockyraccoon , if you opt to have the package sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery then they guarantee to get it there by 13.00 the following day . Don't worry about it arriving the same afternoon - it will be the following day . Special Delivery adds about £5 to the postage cost - see Royal Mail website for precise details .
I buy quite a lot from Amazon and always select Free delivery. I work in a small corner shop which is where I have my goods delivered. The parcels always arrive between about 9am and 4pm so it should be ok to give a workplace as a delivery address. With the free delivery i have never waited longer than 4 days.
Like Evianbaby,I too placed an order with Amazon on 1st Dec.They informed me it would be delivered via Yodel.I have checked the Tracker which tells me the latest movement and latest news is it arrived at Boreham Wood Centre on
3rd Dec.
I have checked again today, only to find the latest saying it arrived at BWC on 8thDec.I just wonder where it has been for the last 5 days.
I have always had really excellent service from Amazon, when items have been sent via Royal Mail.
I am going to take the advice and immediately cancel any further that are being
sent via Yodel.

Daftgrandad - I've seen so many complaints in relation to Yodel, I'll be surprised if Amazon continue to use them, its not doing their reputation any favours.
As of today, the item is still sitting in Yodels depot. I called them again this morning (after Amazon had words with them again yesterday) to be told it might still be shipped anytime up to 11.30 although they can't say what time it might arrive, regardless of them telling Amazon twice they would make sure it was with me by 5. If it doesn't come by the time I leave work today I will be informing Yodel to put it somewhere the sun doesn't shine and telling Amazon to give me my money back.

Agree with commetns about Yodel, I will not buy ay more products if they will be the courier. i am currently waiting for 4 pakages they have managed to mess up. they give false information and are the most unhelpful people on the phone. I found out today that my laptop has been sent from thier depot in Bristol (where I am) to their depot in Lincoln, and they have it logged as delivered to me!
I'm glad you got your package Daft Grandad - eventually!
Chelle, they really are useless aren't they. I called them later yesterday afternoon and they said I should just go and collect my package from their depot in Hitchin. Aside from the fact that is their job, not mine, Hitchen is about an hour away from me and I'm ballsed if I'm wasting my time and petrol money to collect a £15 photo frame that they can't bring it upon themselves to even put on their van. I told them to stuff it and then had an argument with Amazon about getting my money back. They wanted me to to wait until they receive the item back but after I reminded them (quite strongly) it has been stuck in the depo for 4 days without moving it could be weeks before it is returned to them. They listended in the end.
I aim to try and avoid using any company that send with Yodel, unfortunately there are so many of them that do use them now. Perhaps that's their problem, they can't handle it.
