A tough one TOH. I only know some places have the 'T' switch for people to turn their aids to help them to hear what the bank teller, for example, is saying.
If you've time maybe pop into your local library to ask?

Or how about a nice cushion for her or a foot stool?

Books?
The day spent with her son and his wife?
How is the dear lady's hearing?? Audio books maybe?

Unfortunately BOO, Im working Sunday until 4pm but will go and see her later. She cannot really be taken out as she has to be hoisted everywhere.

She has aids in both ears, Alba. Dont know if an audio thingy would work with these would they ?

pink kittens - perhaps Giant kiddies books with lots of pics- lol

My MIL had a huge soft toy dog. I know it sounds a childish thing, but she absolutely LOVED it. It was called Jess and sat on her knee when she was in the day room and on her bed when she was in it, which actually was most of the time. She couldn't see very much, but she was stroking Jess all the time. Just a thought TOH.
A memory book filled with old family pictures of things like trips out really good for getting conversations going especially if the carers use it too

These are dull ideas but what about slippers, or a dressing gown, or have a mobile hairdresser visit?
Question Author
Mrs O. she has lots of those already. We seem to be fofrever buying them. Mobile hairdresser might be a good idea as the one at the home is useless and charges £10 for shampoo and set ! She only paid £3 when she lived at home
we just do a card these days (only OH's Mum is still with us) - it's enough for her to know that we are thinking of her, she doesn't want stuff.
Question Author

Thanks all. Had a look around and got a card and some daffs and thought I would have another look tomorrow with OH. But just as I arrived back the `Ringtons Tea man ` called. He had lots of lovely goodies. I bought a lovely tin which looks like a flower stall, lovely flowers on it. really pretty. Contains boiled sweets which I know she does like. See what OH thinks later.
Does she have a favourite scent that you can get in cream or lotion form for a gentle hand and foot massage. I used to visit a care home to do this as a freebie for some of the ladies. They loved it.
