Because I have a poorly arm at the moment and cant drive, I have ordered my weekly shop online for the first time, will be delivered tomorrow morning. Does anyone who has their shopping delivered tip the driver? We always do if its big items, furniture etc, being delivered, dont want to offend by giving a tip if its not the done thing.

No!
Don't do online food shopping - but I'd never tip the delivery guy.

Back to being confused!!
a £ and mention it has been taken from the Tesco's Provident Fund....
I have often thought this - I online shop every week but have never tipped. Some companies don't allow tipping so decided not too but would love to as they are always very helpful!
You pay a delivery charge - would never tip
Maybe at Christmas time but not usually...

Thank you all for your answers Barb
Tipping was a good thing in the bad old days before minimum wage.

I don't tip these days, except at Christmas for my fantastic window cleaner.
No. Must say it never occurred to me to tip any delivery driver. The driver from Tesco etc is only handing over groceries, not doing anything particularly special or requiring extra care. It's not as though he's shifting your furniture and deserves a tip for not breaking any of it!

Thank you all for your answers. Shopping just delivered by a very nice young man, I had decided to tip if he had a smile on his face - he did but when I offered he said they were not allowed to accept tips. Problem solved.
