Anyone know why, when an item doesn't sell on ebay it sometimes appears in the "unsold" section with "relist" in the right-hand column and other times with "sell similar"?

It appears as relist as an option for you to re advertise without having to enter all the details again, you are able to change any details from the original advert before submitting it for sale.

Sell similar enables you to sell a similar type item within the same catagory but you would have to enter all the details.

I understand that MASS1961, it's the random way that either heading appears in the unsold list that puzzles me.
For example, I had some audio books listed which didn't sell. They all finished around the same time, were listed in the same category and had the same price details but when they appeared in the unsold list they were allocated one or other of the options with no pattern that I could see.
Maybe it's just the bay at their clunky American best. :)

Oh, and thank you. :)
Sorry Douglas, thought you were a new ebayer.

I'm as puzzled as you then :(
I don't know, douglas, it happens to me too - I always get relist if it's the first time of relisting (in which case you get back your listing fees if it sells on the second go).

I've never thought about it before, everything in my unsold list today says sell similar, I just click the dropdown tab to find the Relist option.

Aye boxtops, it's not a big deal really, I was just curious. At least I'm not alone.
Don't forget the three day free listing weekend's on. :)
