Unwins Wine Merchants

Hi, does anybody know if Unwins Wine Merchants still trade? Somebody's sent me some vouchers in their name and I can find neither any shops near me in North London nor a website.

I can see me falling out with someone if it turns out (as I strongly suspect) that they went out of business some years ago!!

I very much suspect that the google results are local independent shops who just happen to have the same name

It's possible you have a voucher for the one of them - but I'd have thought that the address would be on them if that was the case.

Hmm...Looks as though it may be as I thought. There's a list of over 100 stores on the back of the voucher and very few seem to exist. There are none in London according to Yell.com and I wonder if some of these local listings are well out of date.

Looks like dzug's link may be the one. Shame, they always seemed to be well clued-up on the rare occassions I used them before.

I can answer this.

Unwins went out of business in 2005. Threshers took them over.
