Ebay Undelivered Item
9 Answers
I bought an item which was sent by the seller using Royal Mail. The parcel can be tracked but when I visit the RM website it says that they tried to deliver Saturday and left the usual card. The problem is that they didn't on either count!
I have arranged a redelivery for today but was wondering if the parcel has gone astray what happens next?
Is it the sellers responsibility to chase up or mine? Am I within my rights to claim another item be sent?
Hopefully this will resolve itself but just in case.
Thanks.

If it is a recorded signed for item and it has been taken back to the delivery office then it should be okay. If the item has gone astray then let the seller know. They will be able to claim from Royal Mail. I don't know if you are within your rights to claim another item be sent to you (the item may have been the only one the seller had), but I think you are entitled to your money back.
I had a message from an eBay customer who wondered where her parcel was, so I checked the track and trace on the RM website which stated they had tried to deliver but nobody was in so a card was left. I told the customer this and she later came back and told me that the postman had actually left the CARD with a neighbour. So just check with your neighbour in case they have the card.
We sold something which was actually lost by Royal Mail, a certificate of posting was obtained when sent, but it was never delievered. My husband had to give the buyer his money back, and then he claimed the cost of the parcel from Royal Mail. We now always get a certificate of posting if an item is not sent recorded.
Maybe the wrong house number has been put on item, if you can print off a copy of any emails you have take them with 2 forms of ID to sorting office after 4pm to allow for deliverys. This should be enough to get your item. Contact the seller if you have any concerns. Royla mail is st fault not the seller the have proved item has been sent.
