My Job Interview On Thursday
10 Answers
I've got a job interview on Thursday, it's for a Business Development position and the money is good.
I had sent my CV into the an agency, they called me, i went for a first interview, and then they advised they want me to go for a 2nd with the company on Thursday. There are two of us going forward for the job. Only one of us will get the job.
The agency would not have put me forward if they didnt think I was suitable, is that true?
Also, the job spec says that they require a high level of professionalism, I'm just wondering what I can do to make myself look very professional. What to wear to the interview. They also said its a young office, call center based, the men wear shirts and tie, and work hard play hard with a good sense of humor is required. Any ideas on how to brush up on my professionalism by Thursday so I can bag this job would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

(if male) Be polite and don't just answer yes and no, they will want to see that you can communicate well. Can you find out some background knowledge of the company so you have an idea of what they do. Don't be afraid to ask questions.
Good luck, please keep us updated.

Ring in advance to confirm you will be attending the interview, and as it is business development make sure to ask for the job, imagine you are closing a sale. I you have the courage the final question to them is '"Is there anything hinderance to me securing this job?" then keep quiet, if there are any objections you can counter them. Remember you are interviewing them too. Very best of luck.
Take a notepad or binder and a pen - use it to write things that are important - a couple of notes not an essay. Ask questions back to the people who are interviewing you - relevant ones though like who you will be working with/for, main responsibilities, etc.
Find out as much as you can about the company on the internet, who their main customers are (very specifically, such as industry or if it is the public who their demographic is) how they make money, the history, who owns it.
Keep in mind that in BD, you are there to generate business, they want you to make them money, tell them how you are going to make them money, if they think you can make them money then they will employ you, if they don't then they won't.
Good luck :)
