Leeds General Hospital

Didn't know what section to put this query.
We don't know Leeds at all and we are taking friends to Leeds General Hospital to visit a sick child. They will be there from 11 until 6pm and
we don't know where to go whilst we wait.
Is there somewhere like Meadowhall near to Leeds with a cinema perhaps?
Any help would be appreciated.

There's nothing on the scale of Meadowhall but the White Rose Centre might be of interest. Details here:

There's also The Light in the town centre. It's only a short walk from LGI. it has a cinema and shops & eateries like Nandos;

In The Light (a few minutes walk from the hospital) is a super Chinese restaurant called Maxi's - all you can eat for around £10. It is directly opposite the cinema

The White Rose Centre is a bit out of the city unless you go there inbetween.

The Light is a nice cinema. Quite a few shops to wander about too. There is the Royal Armories Museum if that would be of interest.

You could pop into the adjacent Thackray Medical Museum which is much more entertaining than it sounds and has a very good cafe.
Then there is also the Leeds armouries museum.

You're a bit confused with your Leeds hospitals Mosaic. The Thackray museum is next to St. James hospital (Jimmys) which is out of town, up York Road. The Leeds General Infirmary (LGI) is in the town centre, just opposite Millennium Sq.
