Background Music !
11 Answers
I did a big shop today at Tesco's which is 3 miles away rather than the
Co-Op which is around the corner, not because it's cheaper or better in any way except one. They don't have loud background music, in fact they don't have any at all.
According to the Noise Abatement Society in their polls only 10% of shoppers like it , 50% dont like it and the rest ignore it.
Yet whenever I ask shop managers why they have it , the answer is always the same ," most people like it and no one complains."

yes I totally agree with you ,can't stand it as it's usually loud disco or rap music, which invades my head and can't think what I need from the shop in question.Recently even Boots the Chemist and Waterstones had this mental invasion. That's what it feels like to me!I mentioned it to a shop manager and got the same response.I guess it's just the way individual brains are wired or is it age related?

Most people don't like piped music! Even the music industry acknowledges that: http:// music.t aliferr o.com/i s-piped -music- ever-ok / Please keep complaining; it's the only way we will ever get our message across. Even better, join Pipedown, an organisation set up to combat piped music: http:// www.pip edown.i nfo/
