mullein it's true some of the plants on there are a bit pricey but others seem quite reasonable. It's like most garden centres - swings & roundabouts. I wouldn't be buying herbs anyway, I can get quite a good selection from local outlets but thanks for the recommendation - I just might give them a whirl too!
It did survive mullein & is now wafting in the sunny breeze - about a metre high which is pretty good I think as it was only a little plant!! It's had a few flowers but I'm nipping some of them off before it seeds! I haven't had any sweet cecily for about 8 or more years but I found one growing near the hedge a few days ago so I'll have to move it to a better place - it's amazing how seeds lie & suddenly grow! Apparently a concoction of the roots will protect against the plague - so that's alright then!
