Blinds

I have safety roller blinds in the kids' rooms, but a normal one in the livingroom.
It's one with a plastic beaded chain to roll the blind up and down.
Now, I know I could just replace the blind with a full-on safety blind, but at approx £100, I would like to try one of the safety devices I could attach to the existing one.
Has anyone had any experience with these things?
I found these on Amazon, but would be very happy to hear of any recommendations.

It can be high on the wall so no child can reach it, why let cords hang down when there can be no need to let them? That's my solution but perhaps I'm not in the elf n safety brigade. Just my opinion to maybe throw a different light on the situation.
