Free ebay kind of thing

I read somewhere once that there is a website where people can get rid of stuff they no longer want, but no money ever changes hands, kind of like a free ebay. Anyone know what this site is called?

I tried to join "Freecycle" once but found their form so intrusive,and all the things they needed to know unecessary.

I am also cynical.Just what is to stop anyone getting YOUR goods for free from reselling them on EBay?

Our local radio's running a swapshop at the moment.  Now THAT would be a cool website.  Someone on the radio swapped a running machine for a month's worth of baby nappies!  Champion!
