Was looking for a jacket in a catalogue that I liked and came across another cardigan effect coat that I also liked. When I was perusing various catalogues - same jacket was £50 in one cata and £39 in the other - £11 of a difference - robbers half of them.
I never ever shop for bargains or discount but I will now.
What??? You never shop for bargains or discount? I'm glad you have seen the light, Bargain hunting is so much fun! I'll hunt high and low for the perfect frock at the perfect price. I feel quite smug when I come home with my cut price goodies :)
Back in the 80's, I was looking for an evening dress. I saw a lovely one in my local well to do ladies clothes shop. It was £200.
I loved it but thought that was too expensive. The next week I was 40 miles away and thought I'd look in at a dress shop there. The exact same dress was for sale at £100!!!!
A local chain of pork butchers has just opened a new branch in town. They sell tubs of pease pudding at 99p. They also supply Sainsbury's with exactly the same product who sell them at 62p!
I had my eye on some curtain material at the local market. I know where it comes from as it`s imported from India. It was £11 per yard. I saw it in John Lewis for £33 per metre. There was a man standing beside me who was buying metres and metres of it. I had to stop myself from saying "Do you know how much that costs down at Kempton Market?"
I hate traipsing round the shops but I always compare prices online. If I spot something I like unless it's exclusive to one store I copy and paste the title of it into google.... more often than not someone else has it cheaper.
