My friend is really struggling over what to buy her Husband for his 40th birthday.  He doesn't like gadgets/computers and jewellery and she doesn't want to buy the usual smellies, books, cds, etc.  Any ideas?

Buy him a banjo: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Florian-by-Stagg-5-String-G-Banjo-Brand-New-Boxed_W0QQitemZ7348574926QQcategoryZ10177QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem "that plunkin sound". Do you have room in your heart for the 5 string banjo?
I just bought my husband 1 sq foot of land in Scotland, he can now officially be called Laird of Glencairn, only cost 30, available with lots of other funky pressies on iwantoneofthose.com  or .co.uk?

How about an Acre of Rainforest in Equador for 25?  You can buy it through www.worldlandtrust.org

It's a conservation project. Your acre of land is purchased in your name and held in public trust so that it can never be built on or destroyed by logging. Woodland Trust will send you a certificate to prove your "ownership".

Or perhaps he would like a cow or a camel, donated on his behalf via  www.Oxfamunwrapped. They have lots of other gifts too.

Sorry - didn't check the typing.  It should have read www/woodlandtrust.org

 An electric razor
Does he like beer? For Mr Spudqueens 30th birthday I bought him 30 different bottled beers. I also once worked with someone who bought their wife 40 diffferent presents for her 40th. They ranged from clothes to a bar of chocolate - they don't all have to be expensive, in fact the cheaper and sillier the better!

What about an experience- like sky diving, or racing driving day. Red letter days do loads but are expensive. OOOOHHHH - Zorbing- that is sooo much fun.

Does he like Football, if so, you can buy him shares in his fave club. OR check out www.lastminute.com they have some fab ideas.
