Yes I regretted buying my Dyson and sold it on gumtree within a year. May have been the model (a cylinder allergy one) but it weighed a ton, didn't pick up well on carpet, went together in loads of bits like a Meccano contraption and was really noisy. I replaced it with a Miele cat and dog which I can't fault.
Ive had several dysons. Current one is a DC39 Animal (ie it has a brush) The ball not the upright. Built like a rocket launcher but boy does it suck. Yes indeed. I am always amazed by the amount of dust it picks up. Quite heavy to lug around and not easy to take apart for cleaning/storage. Things like matchsticks and cotton wool buds are a pain to get out if you are unlucky enough to suck one up. Answer is be careful what you suck up. I would recommend it if you can overcome the drawbacks. I think weight is something you have to put up with if you want a robust machine that works. Wait for deals to come around. I never pay the RRP, sometimes hundreds less. I was thinking of getting a rechargable hand held one to complement it. Having said that you are quite within your rights to go to a store and try out any machine you like. You dont have to buy. Say you will go away and have a think.
We have a Dyson dc04 and it is very impressive on cleaning 'flat carpets'. However, the attachments/pipe arrangement is useless so we have had to buy something smaller to deal with the stair-carpets or any vertical surfaces or under heavy, immovable furniture.
I have got a Dyson. When my previous Dyson died after long and sterling service, i bought a Morphy Richards....waste of money so I went back to Dyson. Cons are its heavy and costs an arm and a leg, pro is it works.
Dyson V6 cordless is a gem. The only drawback is only 20 mins without re-charge. But very versatile. Light as a feather. We also got one for the mother of 'She who must be obeyed', who is 86. She loves it too.
Zacs-master - which model of the vax air did you buy? Just had a look as I need to upgrade my ancient cleaner but there are so many models. Thanks in advance.
