where can i get a nice unusual chess set from

i have seen some alice in wonderland ones which are quite nice

but quite expensive (over £400.00) i dont mind paying a reasonable amount

but £400.00 is a bit too much

There used to be a shop next to the Swedish Church off the Marlylebone Road in Homer Street W2. I believe it was called the Chess Centre. It sold nothing but unusual custom sets by the 100. Not long after they opened they were summoned for displaying obscene and pornographic material in the guise of the figurines on the chess set. Sort of Roman orgy. That put them on the map and the publicity given freely courtesy of the Metropolitan Police was greatly appreciated by Trevor and Carol the proprietors. :-)
