Toothpaste Monopoly
20 Answers
My favourite toothpaste is no longer being made, apparently. I need to try a new brand, but it seems Colgate have got a monopoly on toothpaste. Can anyone recommend something that is not Colgate!

Why not try the various supermarket own-brand pastes, there is a good chance one of them will appeal to you. Apart from the sensitivity/"repair" ones there is nothing much special about the proprietary ones - it is a matter of taste for the flavour. In fact, the supermarket ones are very likely made at the same places as some of the proprietary ones.
Many years ago (when I was a teenager) I asked my dentist which brand of toothpaste she used herself. She said that they were all a waste of time and that she just used a decent brush (without any toothpaste at all).

Is there a reason that you don't want to use Colgate. There are many different makes so they don't really have a monopoly. In all my 60 odd years I have used Colgate for all of them bar a few weeks when abroad and couldn't get it and have hardly any problems with my teeth. May be just luck but I wouldn't change from it.
