5 Star Channel Missing.
17 Answers
I watch TV with a BT You View box.
A few weeks ago the 5 Star channel disappeared. It’s no longer on the TV guide, nor is it showing as a BT channel in the TV magazine I use.
I’ve done all the self help stuff - checking cables, retuning (last done yesterday) rebooting, watching videos on BT/Freeview/Youtube, and this morning, I’ve had the head banging experience of doing a “chat” with someone from BT.
They don’t seem to be able to grasp that I could get the channel before, and have done as much as I can, and why is it still listed as part of their package, but not in the TV magazine?
They obviously wanted to get rid of me as they were so clueless, and have given me another number to call, which will probably be equally as frustrating, but I can’t call until Monday.
Can anyone give me a definitive answer. Has BT stopped broadcasting the 5 Star channel?
Thanks.

It turned out in my case to be 'background' engineering thing with the transmitter. Tended to be weekends for about 3 weeks. Then it stopped.
Very annoying and seemed like no information anywhere about it.

Thank you, hellywelly.
My TV magazine lists numbers for Sky, Virgin, Freeview and Freesat, but not BT, which suggests to me that BT have pulled the plug on that channel.
If that is the case, they shouldn’t still have it on their web site as included in their TV package.
My fave TV show is shown on that channel, and I suspect a new series will be staring soon.
Looks like I’ll have to wait for the DVD!

“I’ll try and simplify”
That’s rather patronising.
I'm not a techie, and have tried everything I can to help myself before posting on here, and I firmly believe that our privacy is being eroded by the day.
I appreciate your explanation. A link would maybe have provided more information, but I doubt it would have answered the TV magazine part of my question.

At the risk of sounding patronising here, kwillmot (!!) if you want know how to do a link:
Click on the text of the address bar (eg Amazon would read https// www.ama zon.co. uk followed by lots of other numbers and letters) to highlight the text.
Click on “Edit”, then “copy”.
Then on AB, click the answer box and then go to Edit again and click “paste”
That’s how it’s done on a Mac. I assume Windows computers are similar.
I'm off to watch some telly.
Not 5 Star though!
