I don't use Amazon a lot so it was no surprise to find, some months ago that I was entrapped by the way they operate their Prime system. Next time I was careful but still ended up in it. Recently, I studied every page carefully, but *even though I cancelled the transaction,* guess what?

So I bought the book I wanted at a better price and it was swiftly delivered by

I totally agree with you Coppit. I got trapped once, even though I didn't complete my purchase, when I realised I was in Prime. I emailed and requested my subscription be cancelled immediately (with added moan) and received an email apologising and saying the subscription was cancelled. I still checked at the end of the 30day period, but no charge was made....

I’ve never had a problem with Prime

Probably that's because you want use it. My problem is for people who don't. And if you ever decide to terminate, there are crafty obstacles to torpedo that.

I emailed and requested my subscription be cancelled immediately (with added moan) and received an email apologising and saying the subscription was cancelled. I still checked at the end of the 30day period, but no charge was made. However, now I very rarely use Amazon and do most of my purchases through EBay, which I find has good prices and good service.
I love Amazon Prime...we buy a lot from Amazon and I love ordering something at 9 pm and having it delivered the following morning at a specified time (and we're out in the sticks) and i've never felt conned into anything.

The system works well for you gingejbee because you want it to. As a new customer, try buying a single object and NOT wanting Prime!
The biggest con is how it it set on the webpage to seem to demand you agree to join even when you don't. It's still bad, one has to pay close attention to find the link that allows you to reject & continue, but it's not as bad as it used to be. As a customer I feel if they've been told once that I'm not interested they ought not be trying to force it every order. Bad practice.
