Why do a lot of these large shops insist on normal trading on Sundays? Its as if nothing is sacred.I don't necessarily mean for religious reasons, though that is important for some people.I mean that there should be,at least, one statutory rest day for workers.
I noticed also, over the Christmas period, that some stores were open on Boxing day for goodness sake...Is there no end to corporate greed?

Because i work all week i love that i can shop on a Sunday or at 2 in the morning in my slipper and leave my Saturdays free, and having a local supermarket open ment i didnt run out of bread for those extra Turkey butties on boxing day!
The company i work for is open 24/7 365, our weekly working hours are restricted by law but we can work overtime if we choose.
As for a statutory day off id hate it!!! Itd be the busiest day of the week!! An entire nation trying to find something to do that doesnt involve someone else working to entertain!!! May do wonders for the family group but i sure monopoly would soon become a tad tedious!!
