Good morning, this week’s Spectator has been a smooth, mild solve in record time for me again! Thanks to La Jerezana for a stressless offering! NACW was quite perceptive in stating that this one was “Matakari friendly”! And now, back to Charybdis’ Anthology with much more zest and which I’m not yet ready to abandon!

*Seeking confirmation for the following DOWN answers, thanks!
10 Arsenal take off after start of extra time (5) SCAPE
20 Extremely feminine, up for a bit of poetry ( 4 ) FOOT
21 Our circulation depends on this 12 ( 6. 2 words ) THE SUN
*This one is still eluding me despite the hints offered:
16 Empty attempt to hold one for cuddling – it’s what gorillas do (8 )
*Hints for the last two down clues should facilitate answers for the remaining Across clues:
5 Fish, those not far from soles at Billingsgate ( 4 )
17 Vermin from top half of allotment ( 3 )

No best answer has yet been selected by Matakari. Once a best answer has been selected, it will be shown here.
For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Morning NAC. Yes I did. Wasn't a toughie by far (didn't take too long to complete) But thought it was well constructed and everything parsed 100% which is a big think for me.
I only had one error on completion at 35a (but the preamble sorted that out instantly).
I enjoyed it but would have liked more of a challenge.

I’m experiencing some difficulty making sense of several of the Across letters I now have. For me, the preamble is somewhat labyrinthine, but I would like to see how far I can get for my own edification. A confirmation of some of the Down answers would be appreciated. Many thanks in advance!

Thanks, Rick! With this one, I may not arrive at the end game, but at least
I would like to know that I've got something out of the answers for some of the remaining across clues. I seek hints for the following to help me along these lines, thanks in advance!
* Prejudiced people releasing English pastures for payment
*I dipped into lady’s dresser that is meant to be left
*Cheek shaver
*Press capturing rector in skimpy attire
*Prisoner gives up hostilities only for the theatre
*Long ago fresh pack of hunting dogs set out again
*Angus’s first to enter Glaswegian joint- reluctant he’d say
*Energy fed into lad’s sound unit
