I have always said if I won the lottery I would give money away to people I saw on the streets who looked like they needed a bob or 2.
I recently saw a Mum struggle to pay 40 on her Gas heating card in the Post Office. Now how nice to hand over say 200 (or whatever ) and pay her heating for the winter. That would leave you with a very nice feeling inside.
I would do little things like that because I always feel if you give it away to charity then there is always some men in suits having a little slice of the cake as well. Or I would buy the scanner (or whatever it was they needed) myself and present it to the hospital. Or pay to have the Childrens ward redecorated and new toys and books delivered.
Don't forget to have a treat yourself.
wow - at least there are some kind hearted generous people out there still! You could split it and donate it to some different charity's if your having trouble deciding which one. but i agree with willspal's idea though...give some to people you see who need it - would make their year!
BTW i'm a student trying to get through uni....could do with 50 to buy the books i need!! LOL ;op
Good on you for being such nice people though!!
congratulations. i don't suppose you fancy sponsoring me for an abseil? my 6 month old daughter has plagiocephaly or flat head syndrome which requires a cranial helmet which the nhs won't pay for. the helmet costs 1850 and i can't afford that so i have to do the abseil even though i am terrified of heights.
