I sold an item on Monday on ebay and payment went straight through via paypal. Its now thursday evening and I have not received payment yet. How long does payment take to get into your account???

Its instant.Which account are you checking ? Your bank account or your paypal account.Monies should sit in your paypal account until you move them.

Did the buyer really send payment or have they just marked auction as 'Payment sent' ?

What usually happens is that the money will stay in your paypal account until you press the withdrawal button and then the money will be transferred over into your regular account.
