can anyone recomend a good - multi region dvd player, ive bought dvd's from usa and australia and would like a dvd player that will definatley play both (aswell as region2 dvd's)... thanks
(AB doesn't seem to be accepting long answers, so I'll try splitting this up)
If you've got a branch of Richer Sounds near to you, take a look at what they've got on offer. At present, their cheapest regular price multi-region DVD player is 29.95. Its specification is perfectly good for most people's needs: http://www.richersounds.com/showproduct.php?cd a=showproduct&pid=ELTA-DVD150
Note 1: Occasionally, prices quoted on the web are cheaper than Richer Sounds in-store prices. Just tell the store staff that you saw the web price and this will be honoured.
Note 2: Your local store might have some DVD players in their clearance range. (Prices are between 9.99 and 19.95. Store staff can tell you which models are multi-region).
To find your nearest store, use the store-finder facility at the top of either of the above pages. Alternatively, buy on-line.

(PS: I've bought loads of stuff from Richer Sounds. Their staff are both knowledgeable and helpful. Despite some unfamiliar brand names, their products have always provided excellent value for money)
Most 'El-cheapo' brand players can do multi-region, you just need to know the remote control codes to enable it. Search for DVD unlocking codes on Google.
But at 29.95, as recommended, you can't really go wrong, can you?!
I got mine off amazon for 35 and have never had a problem with it, it is an alba one, silver and it is slim line quite good for the price. If you ain't fussed about the cost there are some more expensive ones on amazon if you wanted a more familiar brand name.
