Oscars is a great idea. I went to one last year for my cousin's 30th. I went as Rita Hayworth in a strapless ankle-length black dress and long gloves (after ideas off friends on the answerbank!) and the options were endless - from blokes in tuxedos and women dressed as everyone from Marilyn Monroe and 40s movie stars to characters in movies and even a couple dressed in black and sunglasses Matrix-style. TK Maxx and charity shops are a good place to hunt down over-the-top ballgowns and Austin Powers outfits etc. Hope you have a good one whichever you choose.
